(( General Information ))
Character Name: J'Kar Ezri (Je-Car Ess-Ree) Age: Age Unknown but parents were originals and J'Kar fought during the period of the Fissure of Woe. Identified Court: Exiled from the Light Court Fey Blood: Pure-blood Light but is tainted due to being the subject in a Death Weaving spell. Appearance: J'Kar has been seen as he has since his young adulthood. Appearing in his mid twenties he stands 6' and slender with some sturdy body strength. Once he had a long golden mane but has since been lost to a now short dirty brown look. He used to be robed in the finest of linens but can only acquire humble clothing from what few locals who turn their heads from the exile ruling. He had wings of pure white, long and slender, with feathers maintained in the highest of care. That was before the Fissure, before the fighting, the death, his death. Now his wings are black as soot; so dark that the feathers are indistinguishable from one another. Lacking in texture and shape, they are unkept and undesired. They are the scar upon his soul for all to see. Inner Court: J'Kar was once the Light Courts Warrior before the Fissure, his death, and exile. Level: Level 3 Powers: There has always been a special feeling people get while around J'Kar. They feel happy and know that goodness is in their hearts. As J'Kar grew he realized that things weren't what they appeared. His sight of the people around him was skewed and distorted from reality. After realizing that he wasn't seeing the truth of his friends and family his abilities manifested. He found that what he had always seen in others was a pure view of the goodness in their hearts; that all the darkness in them was blocked from view. As such he did not see their imperfections but saw only beauty. As his powers grew he found that he could show others how he saw them. This ability led to a defensive use for the power. When he used his power upon someone who had no good in them the person would see themselves as they truly were. The result would be paralyzing and fear invoking to the deepest core. Later J'Kar found that he could make the illusion, that was his sight, real for others to see while in his presence. This insight led quickly to a lover and the realization of a second power.
J'Kar and his lover were inseparable and completely lost in each other. But times required separation and training. When the war came J'Kar had ascended to the stature of Warrior for the Light council. As such risks had to be taken. During one assignment a risk was too great and resulted in a near fatal wound that, if left where he lay, would have resulted in his death. At that time J'Kar found himself no longer where he was injured but was beside his love. He was transported to his where his heart was when the need was greatest. This resulted in him getting the help he needed to save his life and left him with the knowledge of a new ability that would later be discovered to work both ways. Should either of the two, J'Kar or his love, be injured they would instantly be where the other is. Unfortunately this power had a serious flaw. During the war, before the Fissure, J'Kar and his love fought side by side. In the heat of the battle J'Kar was struck down. His love was there the entire time and thus he remained on the battle field unable to fight and watched as his love died at his side when trying to help him.
These powers were not without their flaws. When someone who refused to even believe they had good in themselves and J'Kar tried to show them their goodness they would not see the darkness within them and would not be interested in the view of their goodness. This failure leads them to being as if nothing had happened at all. If J’Kar never sets eyes upon the Fey then his power of illusionary reflection is useless. Should J'Kar ever become a Death Fey the burden imposed to those around him would be disastrous. To any living Fey he would show them the darkness in them that is in all that live. This would lead to despair and madness for weeks to come. Should any other Death Fey venture near they would see themselves and be empowered for look at what they are ... the epitome of darkness, pure, and powerful. It would be a truly dark day should this ever come to pass for the likelihood would be a rally of the Death Fey. An expansion of the Fissure to the point of engulfing all that is known. Something even the Death Fey fear.
Magical Knowledge: J'Kar has been raised under a firm hand and caring mentor-ship to have him master Light Weaving. He has struggled with this task but has come farther than most in his efforts. Though he was once quite good at Light Weaving he has had serious setbacks due to the war and being tainted during a Death Magic spell performed by his father. He also has the skill to enchant ordinary items to do interesting but nearly useless things. One item he enchanted was a simple stone that now hums melodies. This has proven to be useful in situations where distractions are required but the Melody Stone is mainly used for entertainment purposes. Since his father’s spell he has felt a darkness on his soul and has felt knowledge of the Death Magic seeping into existence despite his great despise of the art. He tries to put it out of his mind but is always aware that it is there, waiting for its chance ... its chance to turn him into a tool to destroy what he has fought so hard to protect.
(( Personality ))
J'Kar is a pleasant young man who has no desire to fight despite his previous profession. He has no direction and very few aspirations other than to do what is good by protecting those around him. He carries the anguish his death and the events surrounding it with him not as a reminder of what things are really like but as a reminder of why he should go on and do good in the world. Stepping up and protecting someone is so natural to J'Kar that it is almost a reflex. He can't help but to try and prevent someone from incurring pain and hardship. This is one of the few things that are so natural for him to understand and deal with. About the only other thing in his life that comes so easily is his lust for learning. A desire, which has been so neglected, that he doesn't even consider it a skill. He hardly ever gets a chance to practice since his exile so proceeds to act on behalf of others when the opportunity occurs.
J'Kar has few outlets in his travels but tries to take advantage of them every chance he gets. He loves music of any kind and tries his best to duplicate what he can but has little success. His true outlet is enchanting. He just loves to enchanting little things that have little use but keeps the mind entertained. Without these distractions he would be truly lost in his loneliness at this time in his life. His exile has left him with no friends and hardly any strangers even acknowledge his existence. But there are a few Fey that feel the punishment didn't fit the crime and help when they can.
J'kar's heart is deep compared to what he allows people to see. His love for his lost lover was so great that it alone may have killed him on the field when she died before him. He still has compassion, a longing to heal, and to find anew but there are so few Fey left that to find one, with a good heart that isn't torn with lust, is becoming difficult. But should one be found and should she accept him his bond with her will only be broken by death. Should she desire another and leave he shall wonder the lands heartless with hardly a drop of a desire to even try again.
The few friends J'Kar had before exile he always placed above himself. He considered friendship a type of trust that was accepting in every way. Should any of his friends request something he saw to it that be done. In this fact he knew only a very few number of Fey he called friends. Most of whom would have ignored the exile and remained but, unfortunately, most all of them perished in the Fissure. The few that survived abandoned the court and have wondered the lands but have yet to be seen from again.
J'Kar is well rounded in most facets but has developed a mortal weakness to fire. Even the thought of being surrounded by fire can paralyzes him and strikes fear into his core. This does not mean he is compelled to avoid all flame but to take extreme caution when in its presence no matter the size.
(( History ))
Born from two original Light Feys J'Kar was of a high stature. He was brought up in the court of light and knew only what was within the walls of the village. He had many studies and was an apt learner in all fields. He had no enemies and never got into trouble despite temptations at every turn. As he grew so did his knowledge but his wisdom was lacking. He knew how things worked and saw how things should play out but didn't know how to change things to favor a different outcome. He fought with this disadvantage for the longest of times but finally made headway studying defense strategies. With this breakthrough he focused all his efforts and excitement in the field of warfare and strategy. This took him to the stature of Warrior for the Light council where he served with honor.
During his servitude as Warrior he was to command troops in the field. This served him well until the war, the time when so few Fey were left to fight. So few that J'Kar saw that the only way to protect the court he served was to fight alongside his fellow Fey and, if necessary, die along side. In the final days before the Death Fey took the land one of the last battles was being fought. After being seriously wounded and watching his love die by his side trying to help, J'Kar had no reason to live. He died there on the battlefield alongside his love in defense of what was once a peaceful land.
J'Kars white wings faded to black, a black dark as soot, as the life drained from his body. His father, stricken with grief over the death of his only son, revealed his secret study and performed a Death Magic spell that returned his son to the living. Before his father arrived a death fey began with the intent on converting J'Kar into a death fey but was interrupted in the middle of the binding by his fathers spell; leaving J'Kar with no memory of the experience in death and leaving the knowledge of death weaving buried in his mind, slowly seeping out into his consciousness. In the process J'Kars father lost his life to the spell and J'Kar was forever tainted by the Death Magic, now known before all on the field.
When the battle was over and won for the time J'Kar was placed before the council and exiled for being tainted with Death Magic. He was an abomination of life that was strictly forbidden. The only reason he was not put to death on the spot was his power to show people their inner goodness acted on his behalf and showed the council that he still had good in him and could possibly do good away from there. From that day on J'Kar has walked the land searching for peace, searching for restoration, longing to no longer be alone in the world.
