So yeah. FoW. Slowing down, but in my opinion, it really isn't necessarily a bad thing, but interesting thing to note.
Fissure of Woe has limited number of members, all of which are great, plot driven, well thought out - and overall beautiful characters. No lie, I really enjoy reading characters apps to see how people contribute.
The main problem is that FoW seems suited for a great number of players, (At least Inner Courts which is would be at least 28 Inner Court members, not including citizens). Lala, so what do we need? Some shrinkage it looks like. Make the players that are on here have more impact on what is happening, we need to adapt.
What would you like to see in FoW? What do you think would keep you here more often? What do you look for in an RP?
Some things I have been thinking about is changing over to an LJ, where active threads are in the front page, events threads would be bumped to the top, keeping everyone included in the action while private threads could be taken to journals to be read. Also, there would be a slightly different structure, in terms of hierarchy, though similar plot.
I want to hear opinions, on everything, every subject, on teh ideas for FoW shifting~
Live to please.

If we moved to LJ I would go... but I would not be happy about it. I cannot stand LJ RP and made myself a vow never to do it again. They are so disorganized, messy and plain ole annoying with the way posting goes. I hate how it shrinks and just.. ugh!
I'm sure with my recent pain in the ass absence that my opinion on this may not mean much but I am putting it out there regardless.
Honestly I am not sure what would 'keep' me here more often. I haven't been here due to school things with my kids, legal stuff with my mother and a slew of other things that have been keeping me rather busy. There are a few other reasons but I stated those in the one thread I had.
I think more people are needed yes, and maybe a major revamp? Everything seems so dreary and down in the dumps and bleh in a way. I love my characters and Phaedra is definitely an evil bitch but if you noticed she isnt a depressed or sad one, I have enough of that in my real life lol.
I unno, those are my two cents though.

Happier layout. This one makes me depressed.

I have never played a roleplay on LJ before, or really messed with LJ much, so I can't offer an opinion on the subject of moving FoW to LJ. However, I do agree that we need more people, or more concentrated roles. As mentioned, we would need 28 Inner Court members alone, and Court members need citizens. As for being on, I do get on FoW pretty regularly, though I have noticed that my weekends are a bit busier and I get more posts done during the week. What might keep me on more would be more roleplaying, but that goes back to the number of members.
Is there another place that FoW could be shifted over to, if it must be shifted, that is more agreeable than LJ?

Pretty much, if anything is decided, no matter there will have to be a reformatting of the courts. Meaning there will be less of them. I am thinking maybe 3 or 4. New ideas and lore will have to coincide with this. Phaedra and Lang Na will have to have some kind of ranking under Hawthorn and so on.
Fey may have to reorganized.

I am not fond of the idea of moving to LJ; it is still one more thing for me to have to keep track of, and enough - no, too much - slips through my fingers as it is.
On the notion of shrinking the size of the courts, I am all for it, since we don't have even remotely enough players to support such a large inner court, not to mention outer court and independants (and people like me who recognize that they don't have enough time to play an inner court role with the added responsibilities that comes with it).
Should we experience a sudden influx of players, we can consider re-expanding the lists as neccesary to accomodate, perhaps even by means of an in character storyline.
As to the 'doom n' gloom' thing, well, let's face it, the theme of the game is immortal monsters (Fae) who are fighting a cold war because their live war ended in partial armageddon. In what way could this really not have a heavy doom/gloom aspect?

As to the 'doom n' gloom' thing, well, let's face it, the theme of the game is immortal monsters (Fae) who are fighting a cold war because their live war ended in partial armageddon. In what way could this really not have a heavy doom/gloom aspect? I am so glad somebody finally stepped up and said that. Above and beyond downsizing, be it temporary or otherwise, the major killing blow here is activity, and I'm sure it's not something that any of us is unaware of. People don't look at a board with low activity and think "Oh I should join to make it more active!", they just don't join. In regards to moving to LJ, part of your explanation there doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but either way I can't see it working out too well. I don't have anything against LJ RPs, but this one doesn't really seem like it would fit in there. Honestly, I don't think there's anything wrong with the concept, the plot, the history, any of it (considering that's what got me hooked in the first place), though downsizing may be necessary for the time being. The real problem in my eyes has always just been a lack of activity that isn't sporadic. Also I agree with Syl about the layout, or at least the need for a new one. This one's quite lovely, but a bit drab, which might also be making people turn away?

I'm new here but I figured I'd give my thoughts. As far as I can see, what I've seen so far, everything looks beautiful and very well thought out. It's amazing how detailed and complex the storyline is. In fact, it's so good that I might not be able to keep up. I think that is the major issue with a bunch of sites failing. There is a lack of highly intellectual people willing to roleplay. Also, it depends on what a person is interested in. In my experiance as a roleplayer, I have discovered that a lot of people enjoy a good romance. I know I do. But aside from that, every story needs a hero, a main character(s). I recently watched the Prince of Persia and was blown away at how amazing the storyline and special effects were. Also, if any of you get the chance, I strongly suggest you read the book Wildwood Dancing. It is a beautiful fairy tale that I think would give some inspiration to those who enjoy the fey.
Well that's my thoughts.
