ESHARA ARAVELL
(( General Information ))
Character Name: Eshara Aravell
Age: 553
Identified Court: She, with a great amount of time and effort, has managed to gain the trust of the Court of Earth.
Fey Blood: Pure Fire
Appearance
Eshara is relatively tall for a female fey, of a height equal to that of the taller men, meaning that she stands well above six feet in height. Towering easily over many people, she can and has the means to be imposing, for in the minds of many, she looms, and it is easy for her to use her height as a means of intimidation, should she want to. However, she can quite easily convert thist ool of intimidation into one of grace and stature, and she is even able to look demure at times. She can be taller that most of the people in a ballroom and yet somehow look graceful dancing at the same time, which is no mean feat.
With brown hair so dark it looks almost black, Eshara's hair frames a face that is brown and oval in shape. There is a glossy sheen over her hair such that it reflects the light of the moon at night, outlining her figure, and whenever she moves, it ripples gently as though in a breeze, emphasizing its wavy nature. Eshara tends to it only to prevent her from looking untidy, but otherwise allows her body to deal with the rest, not attempting to eliminate the two locks of white hair that have now appeared in recent times.
As a Fey of Fire, Eshara's skin naturally is brown, especially considering that Fey of Fire usually go about in the fullness of the sun's light. So is Eshara's skin a shade of brown, like that of fertile soils and rich fields, but just a touch lighter. She however, is still considered to be dark skinned like those of her brethren. A rich chocolate brown.
Her eyes are brown just like her hair. Not brown like the earth and soil though, for some moisture is always evident in her eyes, making them pools that are coloured brown that any man could sink himself and drown in. Sincerity and compassion and an innate ability to empathize and sympathize shine through them, as does unexpressed love and sorrow. In them is contained the wisdom of the ages, yet with the innocence of youth, blended into one. Set between them is a sharp nose, and sticking out of the sides of her face are pointed ears typical of fey.
Most of her dresses are homespun, made of either woolen fibers or fine silk. All of them have no creases, due to the fact that she can simply use her magic to iron out the clothes. They used to be of grey, green or red. however, now she wears black only, mourning for the loss of a husband she loved with all her heart. She has also abstained from wearing jewelry during this period.
Inner Court: Though she has gained the trust of the Court of Earth, as have her grandchildren, none of them are in the inner court.(( Magical Abilities ))
Level: Level 2
Powers
Eshara has come to the full range of her powers of Fire. And she is very strong indeed, able to affect this element to a large degree. She can create balls and streamers of fire to her design and manipulate them to her designs with a careless wave or flick of her hand. She can manipulate them into complicated and intricate designs that are hard to match. This elementary abilities (at least to her) are things that anyone with enough skill can learn, if they are willing to dedicate the time to it.
Yet with great power comes great difficulty in controlling that power. Eshara's control may have developed to some extent, yet her powers flare out at intervals that have to do with her emotions, especially when she becomes angry. When she was younger and growing into her powers, sometimes, when she was emotionally angered, her powers would flare out of control, burning everything around it. It was considered lucky that she grew up around Fey of Fire, and thus could not burn them.
Eshara's range of Fire abilities allows her to control Fire and Heat to the furthest reaches of her sight. However, the farther the place is, the harder it is for her to extend the reach of her magic, and the weaker and more unreliable it becomes. Within a mile radius however, her reach becomes stronger and ever more effective. She can snuff out any minor fire that she sees with her eyes, and more.
Magical Knowledge
Eshara is an accomplished magical weaver of Fire, Light, Water and Wind. She is particularly adept at the magical weaving of Fire, it being her innate power, and as such it is natural that this branch of magical weaving would come much more easily to her than any other magical weaving. With this weaving, she can help her son in the smithing of weapons from metal ores, and is proficient at it. This ability also helps her to control the element of Fire itself.
She is also adept at weaving the magicks of Water and Light, and this partly helped the Court of Earth to accept her as one of them, though she is not entrusted with power in the society. She can manipulate the energies of the world to some degree, and is a proficient Healer, though she is nowhere near one of the most talented in either of these two fields.
Her ability in weaving the Wind Magick however, is less than absolutely reliable, and it is possible that in the middle of an extended conversation using Wind Magick, the connection might break down if she loses her concentration and focus.(( Personality ))
Eshara Aravell has a very strong will that sees her through most of the hardships that she has gone through in the 180 years of her life. She is one of those who experiences never-ending conflicts throughout the course of her life. Why? No one knows, including herself. All she knows is that she has an unending talent for getting herself into messes that are not always easily rectified.
Eshara is also emotional. This is why she retreated back into the countryside. Partly because of this, and partly because she is now sometimes visibly mentally unstable, especially after her husband was killed (murdered) during the last battle that created the Fissure of Woe. During these times, she will lash out, and only her son Seyren, who looks after her with all his skill, compassion and magick, can calm her down, and even he does not succeed at times.
Eshara also despises the tension between the two factions that divide the nations of Fey. She thinks herself as living proof that the tension was caused purely by the bullheadeness and stubbornness of both the Fey of Light and the Fey of Dark to accept each other as they were. She believes that even if they could not work together, the least that they could do was to leave each other alone. She blames the Light Council as much as she blames the Dark Council for the war, but does not allow it to affect her dealings or judgement.(( History ))
Eshara was born more than 550 years ago, as one of the Fire Fey. Since an early age, she was marked out due to her power and abilities in wielding the element of Fire itself, a tribute to being a true Pure Fire Fey, down through the eons of her family. However, Eshara's personality was nowhere near that of her family, and she was far more controlled, more distant, and less passionate about things that those of her race, though on occassion her mind was indeed ruled by her heart.
She grew into her powers quickly, yet had difficulty controlling them even as they shifted and morphed. She lost control of them often, and disrupted her other lessons, which until then she had been making good progress. Soon, when it was decided that Eshara was far ahead enough of her usual lessons, she was plucked out by her instructors and was set to the task of learning to control her Powers properly.
She mastered control by her fiftieth year and started to learn how to wield the Magick. A quick study in that area as well, she soon grew tired of her instructors and the people around her, so ruled by their desires and their passions. Besides, people were beginning to wonder whether she would ever become powerful enough to challenge the current ruler of the Fire Fey.
Not long after her hundredth anniversary, Eshara had had enough of the expectations and the passions. She left her home, taking only her most valued possessions, and settling on the edge of the human realm, near the realm of the Earth Fey, though she dared not enter lest she bring the wrath of the Earth Fey down into herself. It was well known that the Earth Fey disliked the Fire Fey due to reason of their powers being able to reduce their forests to cinders.
It was thus that she settled into an abandoned house on the edge of human and fey civiliztion. However, that did not mean that there were not visitors. Far from it. There was communication between the realms of the Council of Light and the human realms, and as such visitors in the form of travellers were common. One of them, a Fey of mixed blood, Light, Earth, Water and Air, actually fell in love with her, and she with him, over an extended period of time. They were not married, but he stayed with her for the remainder of his life.
They had over five children, each with a portion of Fire, Light, Earth, Air and Water. Of the five elements, one dominated in each child, but all had traces of the other elements in them.
They grew up and lived happily. Until the War.
As the war progressed, it became apparent that the destruction was going to affect them. Already the humans had been decapitated, and the Council and Light and the Council of Dark had turned the human realm into a battlefield, that, even at its outskirts, the damage was visible. Eshara, Namell - her husband, and their children, surrounded their house with all the protective magic that they could summon, and sealed their house away from the outside world.
It worked, at first. The magic that was being thrown back and forth on the battlefield in what is known now as the fissure of woe, did not really reach their home besides the stray battle that was several miles away. Apart from those isolated cases, the war did not touch them.
However, that changed when the Death Fey gathered and broke over the armies of both sides. They to bypassed the defenses of Eshara's home, and they had to flee, though not without the loss of Namell, and more than half of Eshara's children. Of all of them, only Eshara, Visemi, Nenreo, Seyren and Nesyer survived the chaos that followed, fleeing into the nearest refuge.
