(( Magic ))
Magic, unlike powers, can be learned and not be born with. Magic can summon Death Fey, can help gardens grow, can enchant objects, etc. Magic is a talent, and one can either be prone to it or not. One that is a Level Zero can be a Master Weaver if needs be. Most Magic, however, is used for practical use and is more like electricity in the Immortal World.
All technology is powered by magic (much like Steampunk is powered by Steam, this is more.. uh.. Magicpunk?). Magic can be conjured from a magnitude of sources, such as the Underworld (Death Magic) from a volcano (Fire Magic) and so on, typically by means of nature and spirits. To be a weaver is a position of respect, though made with quite difficulty.
Magic Weaving is not exactly like Fey Powers in the sense that typically magic weaving is the act of enchantments, or creation. Such as forging magical weapons, writing curses to kill a foe, make a healing potion, etc.
To create a magic weave, one must write symbols whether on paper, in the air, or with their words. To become proficient in weaving, they must learn a vocabulary of symbols and hand movements.
If something is not listed below, feel free to be creative. These are just ideas of where each magic can take you.
Fire Weaving:
Typically is regarded the magic of the weaponsmith, especially if the weapon is made of metal or stone for is one wants to make a strong and flexible blade, or indestructible hammer they must know how to command extremely temperatures. Weapons weaved from Fire can vary in abilities and natures.
Fire Weaving can also be used to make many diverse scents, burning oils, or candles that have a wide variety of drug-like effects.
Earth Weaving:
The potion master's magic. Used for killing or healing. Any fey that wishes to practice medicine must be proficient in the magic of earth.
Earth Weaving can be used to help regrow plants in lands that no longer have fertility, such as the Wasteland in the Fissure of Woe. Earth Weavers are the reason the Light Kingdom has been rebuilt at all and it has been a difficult process over many years.
Magical paper that harbor hidden messages and strange and exotic tea is the product of talented Earth Weavers as well. Even Armor has been produced by Earth Weavers that know how to mold metal and living trees.
Light Weaving:
Light weaving is a very versatile magic, and probably one of the most useful. Light magic is, in turn, kinetic energy, able to turn gears within clocks, light lamps without oil, make wheels spin without a power source and overall bring a lot of functionality to the Immortal World.
Wind Weaving:
Wind magic is a difficult and tricky art to learn. Most wind magic is based upon sound, messages and words. Wind Magic is good for creating magical instruments that had an elusive effect on the listener and so on. Some enchantments cast upon doors or gates with Wind Weaving will not allow certain persons to pass without answering a riddle, or saying a password.
Knowing how to whistle certain tunes that are lined with Wind Weaves can produce changes in the weather, such as lightning storms or high winds that can be useful in battle.
Dark Weaving:
This is the magic of torment and hauntings. A difficult magic that can instill pain on a foe using a curse, or perhaps just a bit of that person's hair inside a doll. Dark weaving can give luck or pain, bad dreams, or vigor. It is used to effect the psyche of a person, whether how is up to you.
It is a note that dark magic was used to trap souls inside the trees of the Burning Forest.
Water Weaving:
If potions of Earth weaving are used to heal the body, it is said that mixtures of the Water Weavers can be used to heal soul. Pools enchanted by Water Weavers can have different and even spiritual effects on those that drink from it, or swim.
Water Weaving is also used to fix superficial wounds, able to pull flesh together and even sometimes heal scars.
Water Weaving can also be used to trap souls in much the same way dark magic does, such as knocking someone comatose and forever put the body in suspended animation, the soul trapped within a prison of flesh forever.
Ice Weaving:
Ice is a very strange and lucid magic, able to create the hardest diamonds from ice, or metals that reflect the future. Ice seems to be the magic of alchemy, able to turn seemingly boring objects into extraordinary ones.
Builders of great structures use ice weaving to reinforce walls and give protection to those that dwell within. Ice Weavers created the Castle Attikka and even helped the humans build the Great Wall.
Death Weaving:
The darkest of magics, and the only one that has a notable recoil to the user. It was a magic meant only for Death Fey that have no real bodies to harm, or souls to damage, and when a mortal Fey use it, it causes harm to themselves. Able to bring back the dead, create corpse minions, twist souls and even control them.
Taboo and for the most part unknown to the Immortal World.
