A blink, as she looked up into the sky. How blue, how gray, how transient the weather could be. Her gaze lowered after a moment, to return Eleri's eye to eye. "Peace can be a hard thing to find, can't it? But that makes finding it all the sweeter." Had she read that in a book before? Perhaps, perhaps not. Her memory never had been very good. That didn't really matter though, in the end. "I'm glad you've gained hope; it's an important thing. You should try not to lose it." Spoken as if hope was a tangible object that one could find.
There was a moment's pause as Kalas stared unseeingly at the shell in her hands, a small smile still on her face as she turned it over, spun it round...then it was back to the sky, to the clouds and the disappearing rain, before finally she closed her eyes and shook her head a little, raindrops flying out from her hair as she did. "The world is such an interesting thing, isn't it? With the weather always changing like it does." And the people, and places, and hearts and minds and souls.

The slowly dying rain had left Eleri quite soaked as her attempts to dry off on the land had proven for naught. Around her eyes, lips, and along her arms and legs the pale skin grew to a darker greenish-blue tint, the growing sunlight catching on the deep twilight color of scales along her legs. Water always brought out more of her true form. "I am sure it is sweet, but according to many the war is over and we should be in peace now." It was frustrating, "It'll be worth it when it all ends."
She followed the other's gaze up into the sky as clouds began to shift away. She sighed, "The world is fascinating, how it is shaped by us Fae...even the Fissure that has come into existance." Eleri could not argue with Kalas' words, "Nothing remains the same." The storm winds began to die down, it would be a good evening to travel Eleri thought as she returned to sit with Kalas.
"So where do you go from here Kalas?"

How colorful Eleri was, she thought as she noticed the other Fey's changing skin. It was almost like Kalas' own eyes, though presumably her skin didn't change with her mood. The thought was amusing, though it didn't prevent a frown from finding its way onto her face. Irritation, was it? She couldn't see it herself, but a tint of white colored her eyes as she listened and nodded to the mention of their world's lack of peace.
Travel, though; travel was always a nice subject. There were all sorts of places to travel to, each of them different from the other. "I think I'll go home, actually. And then maybe I'll visit that Fissure. I've never been there before, you see." She spoke as if the place were nothing but a tourist attraction, though the brown mixing in with the white may have told a different story if one had the ability to read her eyes.
"Would you like to..." ah, no, she was stuck in this kingdom, wasn't she? "I could bring you a souvenir, if you like. Next time I happen by."

Home...the announcement was far less surprising than the Water Fey expected, though the casual way the other declared her visit to the Fissure certainly provided the shock the other location had failed to provide. The castle that stood, a stark reminder of the darkness in the world...and the other said it as if she was simply going to a carnival. Eleri even in her own way knew she was naive, but she couldn't help but begin to chuckle at how innocent everything had just been laid out. The soft chuckle grew to a laugh as tears appeared in green eyes.
After a few moment the laughter slowly died to a bubbling giggle, leaving the Water Fey laying on the sad, shoulders shuddering as she took in a few needed breaths of air. At the beginning invite she just smiled and shook her head. Even if she could leave the Water lands the Fissure held a danger that she was still too weak to face. "A trinket would be lovely." She wiped her eyes, soft bits of sand trailing on her cheeks.
"Be careful though. There is a Dark Fey who lingered there when I came to the Fissure. He will kill without provocation." Leaning forward Eleri wrapped arms around Kalas in a way that many would consider too intimate for people who had just met shortly before. "I would hate to not ever see you again. You're too sweet." Brushing aside the bangs that fell along the soft skin the coral-haired girl placed a tender kiss to the other Fey's forehead.
"Promise we will meet again."

Was she laughing now? How nice. Kalas held back a laugh herself, smiling happily at...whatever this laughter was for. Laughter was good for pain, wasn't it? And this was quite a good laugh, it seemed. Had she really said something that funny? She'd never thought she was very good at jokes, but maybe she had potential after all.
The shell was pocketed somewhere in the folds of her cloak, and a pretty stone was picked up off the ground to hold in its place. The Earth Fey nodded at the acceptance for a trinket, looked curiously at her friend at the mention of a killer, and leaned happily into the hug. "I'll try my best to avoid any dangerous people, then. And I hope we do meet again." This had been such a nice meeting, after all, and Eleri was such a kind girl.
"I'm sure that someday we'll see each other again. After all, there's only so many places in this world that one can be." Admittedly it did seem like quite a large world, but she'd always been the hopeful type. And if Eleri was still in the same kingdom after her trip was over, that would make it even easier. "I'll bring you the prettiest thing I can find, next time we meet."

Slowly Eleri released Kalas, for a brief moment she understood in some sense why her own family and guardians disliked her running away from the Court. In the short time she'd talked with Kalas she found herself wishing they'd met early in life before this moment on the beach. She seemed the sister that Eleri had always wished for who saw the fun in exploring.
"Anything you bring back will be the prettiest to me. I'll put it in my own little grotto with the rest of my trinkets from past travels." She kept as light as possible as she finally released the other...no more talks of killers that may or may not inspire fear. "I shall be here for quite a few weeks, so do pass by this place again. I'll make sure to put out more shells for you." Slowly she moved back towards the water, the waves slipping up over her feet as she waded in until salt water began to soak the soft silk she wore.
Turning back she waved Kalas, "If you ever need help, send a message along the waters. It all comes back here in some form, and I will recieve it." With that she fell back into the next wave, disappearing within the dark foaming waters, the wrap the only thing left on the surface as it caught fluttered and pulsed in the waves like a living creature.

And now she was gone. It was always sad, to see someone go. Kalas continued to sit for a while, eyes closed, listening to the sound of the waves. So peaceful. She could fall asleep here, if it weren't for the cold. "Goodbye," she whispered, as if the word would somehow fall into the water and be delivered to her new-found friend.
Maybe it would.
Eventually she rose from the sand, stretching a bit as she did so, and giving the shore a last glance. The wrap. Eleri had been wearing it, hadn't she? And now it was floating there, beckoning, almost. It was pretty, how the light seemed to shine on the wet fabric. Perhaps...no, she'd probably come to get it later. But then again.....
The wandering fey set off again, a wet wrap in her hand.
