(( General Information ))
Character Name: Etoile Attikka L'astaria
Age: Claims to be in her 400s. However, she is too old to be accounted for. With no birth records stating the date remaining in existence, it is easy for Etoile to lie about her age, which is well beyond 1000 years. (She is a methusala).
Identified Court: Dark Fey (Previously Solitairy Fey)
Fey Blood: Pure Dark Fey
Appearance: For the most part, Etoile could care less about her appearance. She spent most part of her life identifying with the solitary fey, and her power adapted to such (no court affiliation). However, since becoming queen, she's had to try to learn more about taking care of her appearance. Learning how to apply make-up was the most difficult aspect for her. Even now as queen, she applies much too thick eye mak-up and lipstick which does absolutely nothing for her appearance, but Etoile has never been known to conform.
Her dresses are a mess as well. The ends are tattered, and the lace is extreme. She loves elaborate dresses that appear to be motheaten and dusted rags, yet still have a certain amount of elegance to them. Of course, Etoile much prefers old robes and simple, knee-length dresses that are easy to run in. She also refuses socks and shoes of any kind, preferring to walk barefoot. Luckily her dresses as queen generally cover this quirk of hers.
At 5'10", she's quite tall for a woman, though she doesn't measure up to the ice queen's height (or so she's been told). Her weight fluctuates between 115-140 lbs., which isn't usually a good thing. She can become quite thin and gaunt when she doesn't feel like eating, yet at the same time, if she focusses keeping herself healthy, she can develop a quite attractive, full figure (though she's naturally prone to and generally stays underweight). Her wings are very long and tend to drag on the floor: Example Here.
Inner Court: The queen of the dark fey- Etoile has only recently come into the position despite being the first in line for the throne out of her three sisters. As queen, she is quite unempathetic to her people and acts on a whim, selfishly choosing what will benefit her the most. With Svv's help, she reclaimed the throne after Hawthorne's "untimely" death.
Level: Three
Powers: Etoile's power of lying is quite skilled and adept at her stage. In fact, it almost steps on the toes of what those would consider puppetry. From a young age, she discovered that she could make people believe her, and with her personality, she started to delve into the realms of ancient texts and writings, trying to learn how to purposefully hone in and get people to do as she told them.
That is where the distinction gets made between simply lying about a fact and giving an order to be obeyed. There are certain distinctions that should be made. She cannot say "Kill yourself," and have the person obey her order. However, saying "You want to kill yourself," is her lie, and wherein where her danger "lies" for a lack of better word.
Her lies can range from believable to absurb, it doesn't matter. She can change a person's actions by making them believe they are something that they are not, she can make them want something that they never wanted and hate things they always loved. She is a dangerous fey to cross, as long as she is allowed to speak.
Immune to her own lies, Etoile can always see the truth, no matter how bleak. Because she has trained, she no longer allows herself to be bothered by the fact a person may not be sincere with her because she has unintentionally manipulated them. She is quite adept with controlling when and how she uses her ability, having spent many years alone to perfect it. However, this was not always the case, and many times she found herself hating those whom she was around because she knew they were not themselves.
Of course, her main limitation with her ability is that if she is silenced, she would lose her control. It is because of this that she has lied many times publicly, saying that she has little magical power or knowledge and that she could not hold her own in a fight. She never wants anyone to discover her power, for she knows how easily it could be taken away.
Magical Knowledge: Etoile does know some sorcerery due to years of self learning and basic elements taught to her as a child. She has only been taught dark weaving, something that she has tried to enhance over the years as a solitairey fey. She is fascinated by the ideas of twisting the psyche and soul, which is why she is fascinated by the idea of death weaving. However, her knowledge in it is very limited, as there are next to no texts in the mortal fey world that teach it. The side effects are horrible and described, which doesn't bother her so much, but Etoile, with her recent occupation as queen, hasn't had much time to try to track down the art (something she laments-- having time to study magic weaving was one recent she retreated into solitude.)

(( Personality ))
Since she was a young fey, Etoile has been very much an insider. That isn't to say that she preferred to stay within the confines of the castle walls, but she never opened herself up to other people. She was very much intune with nature and preferred the animals and plants over fey interaction. She very much despises other people on the basis that they are fey.
Overly critical and judgmental would be great ways to describe her. Not only that, but she's prone to changing her mind on a whim like a wind fey. Always in the game for herself, Etoile is very much a self-centered, selfish woman. If asked if she was capable of love, the answer would be no. There is no love in Etoile, but where there is no love, there is no hate.
She feels nothing for anyone, making her borderline sociopathic. Everything she does, she does because she can, no other reason. Her perception of good and evil doesn't exist. To her, there are only those who do. Her opinions of other people are formed on the basis of whether they amuse her or not.
It's not that Etoile is mentally unstable, though some would consider her as such. She's quite an intelligent woman, but her long life has worn away at her, and she finds herself growing more and more tired of the world in which she lives. It's hard for her to find fey that she will actually like to be around, part of the reason she spent most of her life in solitude.
(( History ))
A long, long time ago Queen Fenanthla and King R'chriskn were married in the kingdom of the dark. Their blood, a strong mix of generations of dark powers, was said give way to the greatest ruler the Dark Kingdom would ever see.
Etoile Attikka L'astaria was the first of four girls to be born to the king and queen and the crowned princess of the Dark Fey. During her early years, the young fey child was taught in the arts of dark weaving, as her parents saw no natural power rising from their child. They wanted her to be somewhat powerful and capable of ruling should she take the throne.
When Etoile was nearly 150, Hawthorn was born. The girl was everything Etoile was not, and the elder fey sister found herself hating the girl for it. Etoile was quite a rambuctious child, always running off during his studies to play hide and seek, or sitting high up in the trees to gaze off into the dark sky. Her interests changed daily, and some of her tutors and so-called friends called her a "wind fey" to make fun of her. But if she told them she was not a wind fey, but a dark fey, they would listen to her. It was easy for her to get people to like her by feeding them lies.
And yet, Hawthorn was perfect. She obeyed, she listened, she was a proper young lady. The more Hawthorn conformed, the more Etoile rebelled.
But things were starting to become more clear to her. The fact that the only reason people liked her was because she had convinced them to through her powers, Etoile left, disowning the crown and all of the people in her kingdom. She retreated far, far away in the middle of the woods, keeping herself lodged in a small cavern.
It was there that she started to really take an interest in weaving and began to study it again.
By then, her second and third sisters (twins) were born: Dre'drya and Koys'ma. And soon after, Valedr- her brother and the youngest of the five. News reached her soon that her parents had stepped down from the throne and passed it onto Hawthorn. But to Etoile it didn't matter. The centuries flew by as she remained in solitute.
When the Fissure of Woe incident happened, Etoile wasn't effected by it, though she watched the war as it went on and finally as it stopped. She was approached by a dark fey by the name of Svv not that long after (by her standards). Together, they plotted to kill her sister and within years Hawthorn had died.
Her sisters were surprised by her return, as they were both sure-ins for the next in line (as Hawthorn had no children of her own.) Etoile convinced them to let her take the throne, despite the fact she had disowned the court for so many years. In truth, she had no real reason to want to come back, but the promise of the destruction of the world she so hates has been enough to lure her into the position.
She wishes to run those whom she hates into ruin in pain, nothing more, nothing less.
