Sairuiniti was not a very difficult fey to track down, not if one knew where to look. Lost in a daze, the boy sat in the middle of his favorite room- his favorite because of the light he could see, shining in from the sky.
Something had been bothering him as of late, though he had yet to pinpoint the source. Was it the familiar feelings of the Fissure of Woe, rising back up to the surface? Was he homesick and longing for his parents whom had died so many years ago? No... it was darker than all of that, and he was worried.
His power lay not in fortune telling nor seeing the future. he could only rewind the past, manipulating the strings and changing the pawns' starting states. But even if he did that, should something be meant to happen, it would, no matter how he tried to change it.
Idly, the fire fey drew small invisible circles on the stone floor, his attention now fully on it. There was simply nothing of use for him to do at the moment. Vaet and Lang both seemed so busy that he hated to bother them, and his powers were not needed, so where did that leave him? Lonely, on the floor in the "open room", drawing circles with his finger on the stone.

After a good nights rest, Vaet had went to wandering around the Fire Kingdom aimlessly. He had no energy to spend on anymore work, and with his hands injured still; he hadn’t been much use to anyone. Despite the fact he had disappeared from the court for two weeks, it hadn’t been a vacation at all. All he did was submerge himself in work, in plans of defenses and strategy. However, it was hard to plan anything useful when it was the calm before the storm. The only thing left was to wait.
If they made a mistake, it wouldn’t have mattered for they had a secret weapon. It did not feel right to use people in that sense, but he never really formed friendships that easily, either. So, when he thought about this certain tool -- this person, he was all the more surprised that the Fey was on the ground, playing with the ground. Vaet had always been unsure of Sai from the start, the kid being quirky and sometimes overtly optimistic, but it wasn’t enough to hate him for it.
Vaet was in a terrible mood today, but it wasn’t like any irritation he experienced before. So, was it really wise to even speak to Sai in these hostile conditions? Yet, the boy had always struck him as being a loner and he would feel bad to enter and turn around to leave. So, instead he cleared his throat, “You look bored.”
How rather obvious. Vaet wanted to roll his eyes at himself, but instead he just frowned.

A familiar voice brought him out of his own little world. His wings opened wide in greeting, and he stopped playing with the ground in order to fully grant his guest attention. Pushing himself from the stone floor, he stood up to his full height, an unimpressive 5'3".
"Not really... not so much," he smiled a little and shrugged up his shoulders. "I'd rather be bored than trying to fix a disaster," it was true that he had told two people of his power- but why shouldn't he? Vaet and Lang- his closest friends- deserved the right to know, and he knew he couldn't tell one without the other.
"And you... you seem upset. What's happened?" he asked, worry crossing over his effeminite features. He didn't like the frown on Vaet's face, but he never liked to see his friends worried or upset because of something that was more than likely easily fixable. "I feel like it's been days since we last spoke," weeks?
Sai had lost count, and once more, the emotion on his face changed to that of sadness.

Vaet wore his emotions on his sleeves, apparently. Or perhaps he was already safe in his own Kingdom, so it didn’t matter who witnessed the grouchy behavior. The Warrior continued forward, closing in on Sai who had now stood up. For some reason, Vaet avoided the light and turned to settle down in one of the larger chairs near the middle of the room. He had not shared a hearty past with Sai, but it was enough to know that the boy would linger anyways.
Glancing to Sai he noticed the boy was rather sad. Sometimes it had irked him to be around the other male, considering he was tiny, much like a child -- not to mention the boy had quite the feminine style. So, when Sai looked sad he thought of him as a younger brother, or an adopted child. Vaet suddenly appeared alarmed by this and he breathed in, turning that frown of his into a smile. At the least, Sai noticed that the Warrior did disappear for some time.
He didn’t know whether to explain his entire situation or not. Everything appeared to be a secret to Vaet now, and he was unsure how to convey this to the other male without upsetting him. “These days seem to be filled with stress,” he said, watching the boy, to look for a reaction. “It’s like… things have changed.”
There was a pause from Vaet, and he decided to shake his head, “Naw, it’s probably just me.”

Sometimes it did sadden Sai. He knew that no matter how much he admired and followed his friends, he would never be as important to them as they were to him. At least, that was the constant, nagging thought in the back of his mind. Still, he was grateful for their presence, and just because of that, he wouldn't let it stop him from remaining in their care.
He was much more like a younger brother to them than anything else, which perhaps was alright, in the end. They were like family to him, especially now.
At Vaet's words, the concern only grew. His eyebrow furrowed and he looked quite unsettled by the news. "No, I understand what you mean... I feel it to," he admitted in a soft, meek voice. He was in awe of Vaet, even now, for being able to voice his opinions so freely to him.
Sai always wondered if there would be reprocussions if he shared what was on his mind without first being asked. But perhaps it was how he had been raised... or his fear of losing his only friends? "I had hoped that I was the only one, though... Does Lang share your feelings? It's been much longer since I've seen him.."

Leaning forward in his chair, he placed his elbows upon his thighs, staring outward. He had let his bandaged hands hang out in the air (far worse off than before). There was only so much medicine he could use, and it wasn’t like they had an open trade with the Earth Kingdom. The Light Council, in that sense, had been fortunate to have such a large medic system. While he was picky about who was in the Fire Court, he would have appreciated someone to be able to mend. But alas, fire was destructive.
At Sai’s confession, his head lifted a little, drawing him out of his train of thought. What had the boy noticed? The stress, or unsettling nature or Lang? Just as he was about to open his mouth and comment, he caught wind, smitten by the fact that it hadn’t been his latter of assumptions. There was a perplexed expression hanging on Vaet’s face, and he continued to keep his face with much apathy. Don’t let it bother you, he reminded, reprimanding himself.
No matter how he kept his face under control, he could not hide the darkening of his eyes. “It pains me to admit, but I am unaware of Lang’s feelings on the situation,” there was nothing more that could be said. But he had wanted to burst out in rage again, to claim that Lang was being suspicious in his ruling -- keeping secrets from the court, or was it just from him only?
Ah, it dawned on him. Had it been Sai in that room that night? Had he changed the event so he would not be able to see the conversation happening? Vaet’s eyes glimmered slightly, finding solace, but not quenching his curiosity. The Warrior looked at Sai with suspicious eyes.

Sai didn't understand the look that Vaet was giving him, only that it bothered him. Out of everyone, he wuold have thought that Vaet knew he wouldn't use his powers unless he absolutely had to. However, how could one really tell when he had manipulated the past? Did he? Did he not? There was never any way of knowing.
Fey didn't trust him, and that apparently extended to his own friends when they were upset. He appeared a little hurt by the look, but said nothing on the matter. Could he blame Vaet? "I just wondered if you knew. You're closer to him than I am," the boy brought his hands to his chest, and he smiled serenely at his fellow fire fey. It was hard to believe, but the peaceful-seeming boy had quite a tempter when time called for it.
It was the fire fey blood in him. "I'm afraid, in truth, that my unsettlement lies more in our alliances. I feel that something is going to happen, but I don't know what it is. I don't have the fortune to be blessed with future sight. It's just that I feel..." he trailed off. He didn't know exactly how he felt.
But he was used to these forboding feelings. "That's why I have been meaning to seek you out, to ask you of a favor," he hated to ask things of his friends when he felt that they gave him so much as it was. "I wanted to know if you would forge me a weapon I may fight with should I need to defend myself. My powers aren't exactly defensive or offensive..." he trailed off once more, seeming to stare past Vaet.

A foreboding feeling over took Vaet. He had felt immediately guilty for being suspicious of Sai and Lang. While it was only a suspicion, he couldn’t overcome the fact that Lang had kept something from him. It would’ve made it easier if Lang at least told Sai what was going on, so that he could rest at ease -- to at least know that the ruler was not taking any burdens alone. The sliver of hurt on Sai’s face was proof that Vaet’s accusing stare had been uncalled for. The warrior straightened his face out, his eyes shifting to look at Sai’s chin, rather than his face.
Vaet wanted to go back to easier times. However, the future remained unpredictable and taxing. No one would be able to survive the next hurdles, especially if another war came. His focus was supposed to be on the defense of the Fire Kingdom, but why did he feel so unsafe with Lang’s silence? To be close to someone. The warrior wanted to laugh in spite, but he did not, reminding himself that this small Fey could probably not take his wrath. Vaet had already said some regrettable things to Lang, and it wasn’t wise to make enemies among alliance, friends or someone who could change events.
“Helpless?” he offered, trying to finish Sai’s sentiment. For that is what Vaet felt often these days, helpless, as though caged in his own territory.
The warrior did not want to elaborate on the weakness, no Fey really did. To be someone so weak and pitiful was a disgrace. Vaet’s gaze flickered for a moment, at the mention of the weapon. It caused him to stare at the bandages wrapped around his bruised, scarred and calloused hands. He was broken at the moment, unable to manifest enough weaving to offer Sai a weapon. But days would pass, and he would heal. And it wasn’t like he could ask Sai to change the events, for that would take away Lang’s impeccable weapon away. The one he had worked so hard on.
So, in his thoughts he mauled over the possibilities. A sword and a shield would more of an offensive/defensive thing, and with Sai’s small frame, he could not picture the boy holding to those two forms. Daggers were too short, it would require close contact to use. A bow and arrow weren’t really in his inventory of equipment to make, but a lance, no doubt. It would be a large enough weapon to create distance between Sai and his opponent. Both use for defense and offense.
Amidst Sai’s thoughts, Vaet broke in, “Do you think you could handle a lance?” He would not mention his inability, refusing to concern Sai with pitiful things such as a wound.

"Helpless, yes," he sighed and glanced off into the distance. He knew he should be paying more attention to his friend, particularly since he hadn't seen him in such a long time, but he felt so nostalgic and forlorn. For some reason, Vaet's presence just reminded him that things weren't all right. He felt a sense of fear overcome him.
But it wasn't from Vaet, no. It was his own fear, but why was it so intense. There was nothing other than Lang's sudden withdrawl to make him have these feelings, so then why was it so strong? The last time he had started to feel this way, an entire war had broken out. Could he have prevented it somehow?
Should he try to change something, or would that betray his friend's trust? Would the death fey come for him and whisk him away because he interferred in life and death? "A lance?" he glanced at his friend, finally focussing his golden eyes on him. "I think so.... it seems appropriate," he smiled. "I trust you with it, Vaet."
It was only when he reached down to take his friends hands to show him how thankful he was that he noticed the bandages. "..." there was a long pause as he looked at them. "Are you alright?" he fully expected to be snapped at for the question, knowing Vaet's fiery personality, but he couldn't stop his concern for his friend. He wished he was more well-versed in healing magic. Maybe then he could be of actual use to his friends.
What good was a power that he didn't use?

It didn’t take a genius to know that Sai was lost in his thoughts. He could sense the boy wavering constantly. Some days Vaet even wondered if Sai actually woke up to see the world, but then again, what did having the ability to mess with time do to a person? He could only imagine. Vaet had been content with his past, but he still had regrets and like any other Fey, he would want to change them. Yet, the consequences to be stuck in a single event would have been horrendous, and thus he never requested for Sai to go back and change part of his life.
He watched Sai closely, not reacting fast enough to take his hands away. Instead, he allowed the boy to lift them up in an attempt to say thanks. If he had recalled on this act, he would remember that Lang had offered to glance at his wounds as well. Only to be shooed away. It was an unnatural display of concern, and it had caused Vaet to go into a frenzy. However, Sai’s concern seemed innocent and pure. There was a little sigh from Vaet, but he was not going to follow the ‘keep a secret’ trend.
“I just finished a weapon for Lang, the uh, elemental verse kind,” he seemed a little embarrassed by the fact. It was a weapon that took years or studying to perfect. He had done it in secrecy, and when Lang had denied the first weapon Vaet created him; he had vowed to give up some of his blood to make the magnificent weapon. Now he would bare scars. “Don’t worry about it, though, it’ll be healed and I can start on your weapon!”
While he had disliked fire weaving, he had always enjoyed to make special requests (depending on if he liked the person or not). Vaet moved his hands a little, poking one index finger out to nudge at Sai’s wrist. “Really, I am fine.”
