(( General Information ))
Character Name: Sylvias Age: Deceased Identified Court: In Sylvias’ previous life, he had been a Light Fey. Because of his powers in his living life, the Light Fey had identified him as being a threat. He never was truly accepted in the Light’s society because of that. Fey Blood: Once a full-blood Light Fey, Sylvias’ has fallen victim to the Death state after his murder. There is some resemblance to his former life, but not much. Appearance: Alive: During his youth and has last moments alive, Sylvain (his former name) had been the pure essence of Light Fey. He had platinum hair with gold touching the ends, his eyes bright with blue, and he had been healthy in every way. Because he had much pride for the Light, he was often seen in white clothing, symbolizing their pure society. There usually was a smile on his face, and that might’ve been due to his wings/soul being so wealthy. His wings were translucent, yet white, branching out to barely touch the top of his head and ended mid-back.
Current: A grave change has come over Sylvian’s ‘shell’. Once revived from the power of the Underworld, his appearance became haggard. His hair tends to be disheveled, the strands black, as though soot has eternally clung to the strands. Because there is no need to worry about appearances in the Underworld, his bangs usually cover his forehead, and sometimes even his left eye. Since there is no need for blood, his flesh has become sickly and pale, with dark circles protruding beneath the lids of his eyes. Sylvias’ fingernails are usually blackened or spotted with red, as though stained from dirt and blood. Over his pale eyes is a fog of black, mimicking a thundercloud. Sometimes when he turns his head the fog delays in its movements, revealing a spec of blue.
His clothing, on the other hand, represents a grim reaper. There is a black shawl that shrouds over his shoulders, held together by leather buckles -- the shawl continues in the back, creating a long cloak, allowing the excess fabric to hang freely or be used as a hood. On days that he not instructed to collect souls, he will wear black leather gloves, to keep from stealing souls further. The rest of his attire is black, a belief that it helps instill fear into their victims. Level: Level 4 in life. Powers: Sylvian’s living powers were of rare multitudes. When he approached people or objects, he would be able to see their future. He never lingered or actively used the powers to try and change fate.
Sylvias’ current powers are inappropriate for a Death Fey. He is able to see the past of a person and object. This can usually distort his judgment. Being a Death Fey, he also has the ability to disappear and reappear where he chooses, use hallucination to fear his victim’s mind, and to extract the soul.
(( Personality ))
Sylvain, in his life, always had a very optimistic nature about him. Despite being able to see the future, he tried not to let that affect his mood and took what little unpredictability he had in stride. Even if he saw that others were going to be murdered horrifically, he always kept to himself, finding the use of murder to be inefficient. While he was not simple minded, he had wished for a very a simple life -- Sylvain wanted peace, to maintain his family-orientated life and protect his sister from any harm. The only reason he was grateful to have the gift of the future was because he saw that his sibling would succeed. With this knowledge, however, the Light society had shunned Sylvain for his gift. They feared that he would see something that would one day destroy their peaceful society. Sylvain tried his best to never appear hostile, and to be accepted into Light’s society. He had even offered his assistance in the war, to tell the outcome. However, the Light had wanted to change the results, but knowing Sylvain did have the capability to change fate, decided to retract his help.
As a Death Fey, there are no personal goals. The idea of the Death Fey is to find wandering souls, and those near death and collect as many souls as possible. It’s almost a race to get as many as they can out of hunger. Death Fey usually hunger for souls, and are attracted to souls that are near death. However, with Sylvias, there is a different intent. Instead of being a mechanical tool for the Underworld, he almost has a conscious. Considering his powers allow him access to the past of his victims, he might be able to see if they were related to him in his living life. Those in power of the Underworld, do not mind Sylvias’ curiosity, because they too, have a fear that Sylvias might be able to over power them with stories of their once lived life.
Sylvias played an active role in the Fissure of Woe. He had seen the war coming in his life, and had experienced it as a Death Fey. He was able to get the last living Fey out of there, while being one of the first to collect the souls at a quick rate. Because he had collected a large amount of souls in a short period of time, he is near the power of the Elder Death Fey. While his hunger may never be quenched, he wants to haunt those who are in command of the on-coming wars. This may mean that he has the goal to visit the rulers of each court, to warn them that he will be there when their time is near.
He is very much a predator, enjoying to toy with his food, to prolong the chase. Because he had the opportunity to see a glimpse of his living life, he has a secret ambition to find out more.
(( History ))
Sylvain’s parents were not truly in love, but felt the pressure to reproduce in hopes that their children would have great gifts. Jenneve and Emoryn, had been of the few low powered fey to produce two Light Fey that were extremely gifted. Considering Sylvain’s parents were not actually fond of each other, and only use greed to get somewhere in life, the two children were usually at home with Jenneve while Emoryn went out to live in the party life of the Light court. Sylvain had always got along with his sister, feeling the need to be a father-figure to her since there was no one really around. Jenneve had been trained to be a mage in her younger life and failed miserably, refusing to allow the children education, declaring they were gifted enough for that useless knowledge.
One night, Sylvain received the premonition that Emoryn would return to their home, to steal the children. Knowing this, he hard tried to warn his mother. Because he had intervened into the fait, the result only ended in bloodshed. Jenneve, furious at Emoryn’s attempt to steal the children had attempted to murder Emoryn, while Emoryn, gifted with some magic, had opted for defense. The magic had backfired, causing the two to die in an explosion of improper magic. From then on, Sylvain refused to tell anyone what he knew, seeing that the change of the future only meant it was for the worse.
The Light Fey society, misunderstanding Sylvain from the start, had whispered and made rumors that it was the son that had killed his parents. With the best of his ability, he had found work to help farmers and other people on when to grow crops and when not to. Using that fortune, he had saved enough to keep their house and send his sister to a magic school. The two lived almost lived as outcasts, dealing with more rumors that there was incest involved, being that they were twins. Sylvain tried his best to give the two of them a normal, peaceful life. Desperate, Sylvain had went to the Light Court, wanting to offer what he knew.
While there he had caught a glimpse of a trespasser, who had plans to foil and destroy the Light Court all together. The trespasser knew immediately that Sylvain had found out, and at that moment, Sylvain had caught a glimpse of his own death. Distraught, he had left the Light Court and returned home, opting to spend his last days with his sister. He told nothing to his twin.
Knowing that he was being watched, Sylvain went outside of his home, walking right into his own abduction. He was beaten into unconsciousness, his body dragged outside of the Light’s home, and the trespasser had continued to kill Sylvain until there was nothing left.
When his eyes opened next, he knew nothing but darkness. He felt only pain, and suffering. There were chains on his ankles and wrists. All his eyes saw was feet before him. The voice above Sylvain asked, “Do you want the pain to end?” And his only reply was ‘yes.’ All of his suffering was gone, and now he saw where he was. It was a hall full of people, and while he knew not who he was, the name Sylvias sounded similar and right. The Elders of the Death Fey had given him instructions on what he was, and what his mission was.
Choice was no longer an option, and he continued his duties, but some deep pit inside of him wanted to search for more.
