(( General Information ))
Character Name: Brisa Ga’ran Age: 750 years old Identified Court: Wind Court Fey Blood: One quarter Water Fey, and three quarters Wind Fey Appearance: Brisa is intimidating in height as she stands near 5’9’’, her form lithe, but feminine with a generous bosom and hips. Dark chocolate colored hair falls in thick curls to the middle of her back, often pulled up and back from her face in woven braids. Bright eyes reflect the mixing of the sky’s blueness ringed with the gray of thunderstorms, they are narrow, almost almond shaped. Her expression is very distinct, one of airy amusement, a subtle smile upon peach colored lips masking her thoughts and giving the appearance of neutrality and patience. As if to her very nature Brisa wears very long, light dresses, set to very soft tones. The material so thin and fine that it seems she is clothed by the wind. Her wings are the most curious part of her person, small compared to other Fey’s, ethereal and veined in a manner much like dragonflies, appearing almost silver against her almost golden skin. Her wings are often hidden beneath a shawl, or within her dresses.
Inner Court: Ruler of the Wind Level: Level three Powers: Like her father before Brisa possesses the ability to manipulate the wind as a defensive tool. Weaving magic within the wind she uses this as a method to bind those who wish to do other’s harm by creating strong and focused currents that act almost as solid ropes or iron chains. This power has been used to create large expansive sheilds to protect the borders of the land from invaders during war time. In the most desperate situations, or during a time when a final judgement demands such she can manipulate the wind it can be used to draw air from a body until it is rendered unconscious or dead. For Brisa the use of this power is both draining and dangerous if she loses focus at which it can spread to effect others within range. Thus she keeps in under tight check unless violence is unavoidable. Magical Knowledge: From childhood the Wind Ruler was taught to weave magic into the wind in order to communicate with others within the court and to extend her own senses beyond the normal reach. The main focus of her studies though were to always keep balance within nature.
(( Personality )) At first meeting Brisa appears to manner as a person lacking the mindset and capabilities to be ruler. She is clumsy, and appears to be rather distracted most times. However, as childlike as her manners may seem she is level-headed and more calculating in thought than she seems to be. Though she dislikes the war that had happened and the tensions that continued after it the Fey finds it amusing the politics that have come into play in the time of “peace”. There is a subtle sense of danger beneath the pleasant exterior, a sense of bitterness and wearyness that comes out under stress. She delights in the chaos of life, finding that there is an order and rhythm…a balance where none seem to be. She is a fair judge, though her stance on neutrality can blind her to what is right and what is wrong in the name of balance, and often lead to her to rather extreme punishments for breaking the balance.
(( History )) Brisa is the third child of the royal family within the Court of the Wind Kingdome. She was born to the second wife of the Ruler, and considered to be a child thought little of as her two older brothers were the closest in line for the throne. Brisa did not speak until well into her fifth year of life, and up until that point many within the Court including her own family thought her to be curse or struck dumb at birth. She was considered slow in study, and because of this was not considered worth schooling by her father. However, her eldest brother saw it his duty to do what no other would do. He pushed Brisa, and found that the child was neither dumb, nor cursed, but rather quick to pick up magic weaving, and using her own innate abilities. Left on her own she simply was an observer, taking no interest in participating when others thought her to be of little importance. When her brother revealed this to their father he was quick to put her brothers, but the young Fey was resistant to any other teacher other than her older brother. She bloomed into a rather impressive weaver of magic, revealing her abilities were close to that of her own father’s, and quickly advancing in her studies. With her brothers she took pleasure in the time away from the peace of court life to see the wild world around them, that even the wind they had power over was a force that had both patterns and chaos. It was through them she could understand the world outside of their borders as a constant push and pull to maintain itself without tearing apart.
However, as the years past and the children matured, they began to take on more duties of the Courts. This proved to be troublesome as both her brothers were sent to study abroad to learn more of the world before they could be considered heirs to the throne. Left alone once more Brisa fell silent, taking her own training in Court and magic seriously, but lacking enthusiasm for the court life that she’d enjoyed before. Once more locked away in Court life she grew restless and worried as the war that was brewing caught the Court’s attention. Though their army was great the only movements they made were to secure their borders.
The still young Brisa urged her father to take action upon the Light Fey’s side as her Elder brother would be caught up into the fray of battle in their travels, their communications telling of many dying, of their own desire to take up the fight. Her father refused her many requests even as the war grew more violent and her brothers joined the fight for the Light, urging Brisa to understand the importance of a neutral force. Every day she would join the others with magic, building their barriers around the border to keep the war outside. As the war raged on she was forced to listen to the growing numbers of casualties that came in on the winds. The blood beginning to taint the purest air. As the traumatic news of her brothers’ deaths came back to Court Brisa found herself still unable to understand the purpose behind so much death.
At this news the King began to grow ill as Brisa grew enraged. She wanted revenge against those who had hurt her family, against both the Light and Dark Fey who had caused so much death with little result save for spilled blood. Even as her father faded over the years the war lasted so did her anger as her position in court restricted her from doing anything other than watching the war unfold into more bloodshed. Her responsibilities within the kingdom grew, but still she had no power to take any action save against those who tried to bring the war into their own lands. When the weight of full rule passed to her Brisa took the throne the final cries of wars had sputtered out leaving the tentative peace, leaving her without any justice or explanation. Swearing to uphold the balance to prevent the next war from happening no matter what the cost Brisa once more opened the Wind Kingdom to both sides with her own threat that any act resulting in violence would bring the full weight of punishment on their head.
