Character Name: Kalas Lith'ard

Fey Blood: Wind Fey, with some Earth Fey blood.
Appearance: Standing at about 5'2", Kalas is of relatively average build, if a little thin. Her long, bright reddish hair reaches down to her waist, a stark contrast to the drab olive cloak she often wears, and her bangs, left to nature, messily frame a pair of ever-changing eyes.

Her choice in clothing is plain and practical and often covers her whole body, with no skin to be seen but her hands and face; she has a great aversion to the cold, and may dress as if ready for the winter when it is already late spring. If ever revealed though, she has no tattoos, scars or piercings of any kind (besides a small scratch on her left wrist that never went away).

Her wings are large and feathery and such a light green that they appear almost white, their tips matching the length of her hair.

Powers: Kalas is an empath. She can sense the emotions of others, and...really can't do much else. The empathy has an effect on her own emotions: If the person she focuses on is angry, she may become angry as well, though she tries her best to control it. Her eyes change color with the emotions, too, like a mood ring. That is the extent of her natural powers.
Magical Knowledge: Magic weaving, on the other hand, is an area of expertise. Her lack of natural skill caused her to be pushed in her studies, and-luckily-she enjoyed it. Symbols and words and movements amuse her, catch her interest, and so she learned quickly. Her skills in this area make up for what she lacks in nature.

(( Personality ))

Kalas is a somewhat strange Fey, always seeming as if she's walking through a dream. Everything about her has something of a dreamy quality to it, from the almost permanently half-awake smile on her face to the way she has of picking up on only half the conversation. This airheadedness is, in a way, how she controls her own empathic skill. When your own emotions are felt as if through a haze, elevating them won't cause as much of a problem. As such, she retains a zen-like calm as her default emotion, though certain things can bother her enough to induce a frown. This mainly includes sudden and large changes to her daily routine.

Aside from that, she has an overall cheerful and friendly mien, helping others when she can, and has a fascination with the world around her. Everything in the world brings up her curiosity, from plants and animals to other Fey, and she is easily distracted because of it. Despite the distraction and detachment, though, she actually retains a lot more information than she lets on, and has a habit of eavesdropping on any sort of conversation that just happens to be within hearing distance. Sadly, much of the information she doesn't retain is important; she's incredibly bad at remembering names, and gets easily lost in places she's new to, though she can easily pick her way around in more natural settings.

Lastly, Kalas likes collecting things, and the place she currently calls home is filled with flowers and trinkets and pretty stones, all but forgotten as soon as she places them down. Aside from what people would most likely call junk, she also owns a large number of interesting readings and magical artifacts that may or may not have been dropped, lost or otherwise left behind by others. When she finds something, unless she knows who left it there she'll keep it for herself. She also enjoys singing, staring off into space and people-watching on occasion. Or bird-watching. Or watching anything that moves, really, even if it's just a leaf being blown by the wind.

(( History ))

Born to a Wind Fey mother and Earth Fey father, Kalas was left with only her father at a very early age, and as such was raised as a member of the Earth Court. She had a relatively normal upbringing, educated in the magical artes, taught everything one needed to know to be a proper member of the Court, though she had some problems in her early childhood with her empathic power. Eventually though, her father married, and while her stepmother wasn't unkind she felt now was as good a time as ever to set off on her own.

Having never felt entirely comfortable with court life (she always forgot the proper ways to say and do things, and everyone was so serious), she left the court entirely and started to travel. There was a lot of enjoyment to be found in traveling, and she continued doing so for quite a few years before finally stopping to set up her own little home in the forest. With her home officially established, she often goes out traveling again, content to know she has her own secret place to return to, when she remembers where it is.
